LACROIX City Announces New Roadside Unit Products Featuring C-V2X Chipset Solution From Qualcomm

LACROIX City, unveils plans to evolve its current portfolio of ITS solutions to now include C-V2X direct communication technologies in its product line-up. LACROIX City’s new roadside units (RSU’s) will feature the Qualcomm® 9150 C-V2X chipset solution from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated. The Qualcomm Technologies solution is based upon the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Release 14 spécifications for direct communications (PC5) between vehicles, infrastructure and pedestrians over the globally harmonized 5.9GHz ITS spectrum.  With a strong evolutionary path towards 5G New Radio (5G NR), C-V2X is designed to support improved automotive safety, automated driving and traffic efficiency, and is positioned to play an integral role in developing the smart roads of tomorrow.

Through its brand LACROIX Neavia, specialist in multi-sensor detection and data acquisition devices, LACROIX City’s new C-V2X-enabled RSU products will be available in the first quarter of 2019. By including the Qualcomm 9150 C-V2X chipset solution in its products, LACROIX City will now bring essential scalable functionality to its customers, while strengthening its global position in the mobility industry.
